Online Freelancing Push

When I got married and started having kids, my career has been put reluctantly aside. Don’t get me wrong, I am happy but the nagging feeling that I’m missing something has always been there. Since a lot has been on my plate with the kids growing up and my responsibilities as a wife and a mom getting bigger each time, I wasn’t able to really dwell into what I wanted to do, career-wise. The COVID -19 pandemic being upon us and the bills piling up have gotten me to finally act and start working on what I have been planning on doing but have been setting aside for a long time – going into the world of online freelancing.

Exploring the World of Online Freelancing

First Step into Online Freelancing

Getting started on my online freelancing career was never easy. I remember spending a lot of time checking on different companies offering paid and free online freelancing courses. Through a Facebook ad, I got to know about the #onlinefreelancingcourse being offered by Filipino Virtual Assistance Business Consultancy. After doing background checks on #FVA and seeing how reputable they were on the field of #onlinefreelancing, I took a leap of faith and got myself enrolled in their program. I am happy to have trusted my instinct then because my entry into their online freelancing course was definitely money well spent.

Online Freelancing Wisdom

I have been learning a lot since my online freelancing training commenced. I was able to start building my very own brand that’s offering online freelancing services. I was also able to successfully put up my profiles in Upwork and Onlinejobs.ph, two of the biggest platforms in online freelancing. I got to create, design, and optimize my social media sites on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. I was even able to create and optimize my very own website from scratch thru Wix.

My training in FVA has been instrumental in learning the skills that I can use to offer online freelancing services. I now have ample knowledge in general #virtualassistant services such as data entry, file and forms management, transcription and email and calendar management. I am now more confident in creating and designing social media content posts via #Canva. I also got to know about social media planning and scheduling and posting social media content using Hootsuite and Facebook’s Creator Studio. I feel so amazed knowing what’s happening on the back end. I am at awe thinking how much time and effort are spent by online freelancing individuals like me on every post that gets into different social media platforms.

Realizations on Online Freelancing

Gaining online freelancing knowledge is never stress-free. I’ve been feeling like a zombie for having lots of sleepless nights lately. My eyes hurt at times and my vision gets blurry for looking at my computer screen for a long time throughout the day. I feel exhausted but I am unable to stop. I cannot lay rest knowing that I still have portfolios to finish and proposals to submit. At times, I would ask myself if the sacrifices I make to get into online freelancing are worth it and every time, my answer would always be the same – I’m glad I took that leap of faith then and made my first step.
